Rev. Tina Burleson - Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Pastoral Care PDF Print E-mail

Tina grew up in Charlotte, NC.  She committed her life to Christ at age seven and was nurtured in her faith by parents and many teachers/pastors at church.  She answered the call to vocational ministry at 20 years of age and was ordained to the Gospel ministry in 2008.  She has completed a BA in Religion from Gardner-Webb University, a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Southeastern Seminary, and a Master of Divinity from Gardner-Webb University School of Divinity.

Tina believes that Spiritual Formation is a life-long process which is enhanced by studying the stories of faith in the Bible, by listening

to others share about their stories, and by being involved in mission and ministry.  She believes that faith is best formed in the context

of intergenerational activities and enjoys partnering with other staff ministers to create discipleship opportunities that bring all age

groups together.

Tina came to First Baptist in May 1987.  At First Baptist, Tina focuses on the spiritual formation of adults, pastoral care and ministry with Senior Adults.  Her passion is to help others discover where their story intersects with God's story and to help them find ways to develop and utilize their spiritual gifts to impact their world for Christ.

In her leisure time Tina enjoys being out in God's beautiful world by biking, walking, and hiking in National Parks.  Her goal is to visit every National Park!

He is a graduate of Clemson University (BFA in Art) and Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond.
